When Jesus sent his disciples out in Matthew 10, the command he gave them was to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils and preach the Gospel. In the same breath that he told them to heal the sick, cleansed the lepers, and cast out devils, he also told them to preach the Gospel. From this you can see that healing is just a part of what he came to accomplished in your life like the forgiveness of sin.
Many people think that what Jesus bring about through his death, burial and Resurrection only effects the spiritual, eternal realm. Because of this they came up with lyrics referring to when they get to heaven. They think that you got to live such a miserable downtrodden life, been afflicted by the devil, and just bear it up like that. But that far from the word. "He gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us, from this present evil world, according to the will of God our father (Galatians 1:4) Jesus gave himself for our sins that he might deliver us from. Not only the penalty of sin but this present evil world. That sound like Colossian 1:13 who has deliver us from the power of Satan. And 1john5:4 says our faith is the victory.
YOUR SIN ARE FORGIVEN YOU
" when jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, son. Thy sin's be forgiven thee; but there were certain of the scribes sitting there. And reasoning in their hearts why does this man thus speak blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God only? And immediately when Jesus perceived in his spirit that they so reasoned within themselves, he said unto them, why reason ye this things in your heart? Whether is it easier to say to the sick of the palsy, thy sins be forgiven thee, or to say arise and take up your bed and walk? (Mark 2:6-9)
This is referring to a man that was taken with palsy. And was taken by friends to get him to jesus but couldn't get in the house Jesus was inside ministering because of a great crowd. Undeterred they took him to the top of the house, removed some tiles from the ceiling, and literally lowered this man in his stretcher right down in front of Jesus.
Notice that Jesus said. "Son your sins be forgiven you" at verse (5) if Jesus had been only a mere man, it would have been impossible for him to say either, "rise up and walk," or "your sins are forgiven" only God could forgive sins. But Jesus being both fully God and man, could actually say and provide both at same time. Healing and forgiveness.
"James 5:14 states: " is any sick among you? Let them call for the elders of the church: and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the lord: and the prayer of faith shall save the sick" the word "save" there, is the Greek word sozo, and it is talking about the sick being physically healed in their bodies. This same word that was translated forgiveness of sins hundreds of times in the new testament was also translated healed.
"1peter2:24 " who his own self bare our sins in his own body, on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should lives unto righteousness by whose stripes ye were healed " you can also see it here that the same way he died with our sin he also died with our sickness. Healing and forgiveness are all the blessings of our redemption.
In the same way you would never think that the lord would want you to commit a sin to teach you. That you could learn something from your sin He would never want you live in sickness, God is never the author of sickness. But I wonder why inlife you hear people saying things like. "Well, this sickness is really a blessing from God because it turns me to him," it true that crisis situations turn people to God, but he doesn't send sickness to teach you, he wouldn't do that anymore than he would put sin on you.
God's supernatural divine healing is available to all of us and it part of the atonement that Jesus died to provide. If you aren't receiving your healing God isn't upset with you, you don't have to be healed to love God you can love God with your whole heart and not believe in healing. But healing is God's will for you God want you whole and strong because it has being already paid for.
