In the 10th chapter of Romans, the holy spirit through this great man of God, the apostle Paul. Give us this principle of Faith that we usher us into our rich place of victory.
He start by saying "but the righteousness which is of faith speaketh on this wise, say not in thine heart, who shall ascend into heaven? That is, to bring Christ down from above"
First he tells us what the righteousness which is of faith would not say: "who's going to bring Jesus from heaven. And he will walk on here, and lay is hand on me and heal my diseases, and will went about our street and into our hospitals and heals our sick. It says the righteousness which is of faith says not that.
" for moses described the righteousness which is of the law, that the man which doeth those things shall live by them"(roman10:5) the righteousness of the law does something but that which is of faith in Christ Jesus believe and say something, because ".....it is of faith, that it might be by grace...." (Roman4:16).
The righteousness which of faith and also of grace, which is the righteousness of Christ Jesus, doesn't say who who will reverse the process of death, and put Jesus back in the grave and bring him back on the earth in his physical body so that he can touch me and I and my family can be healed.
But verse 8 begins: but what saith it? What saith the righteousness which is of faith? "The word is high thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is the word of faith, which we preach" (Roman10:8) it says its near you. What? THE WORD: that all it takes to change your destiny is near you. It's saying all it takes to still your storm is near you.
You don't have to be like the disciples in Matthew 8, to wake the master from the pillow to speak to the storm. It is near you in your mouth! All that the disciples need to still that storm was near them. Was so near to them. Than even to wake the master from the sleep.
It's what the Greek called RHEMA. In Ephesian chapter 6. Here the apostle Paul is describing the Christian warfare with our adversary and the spiritual weapon that God has put at our disposal,
"Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God." (6:17)
As a believer, you are involved in a spiritual warfare with the your adversary, those demonic force are trying there best, but all the believer has to do is take there shield of faith and their sword of the spirit.
That was the same thing Jesus expect from peter and the rest of the disciples during there encounter with the devil, at the middle of the sea. "And he saith unto them, why are ye fearful, o ye of little faith?" (Matthew 8:27)
That was same what Abraham and Sarah use to change there own situation. When God told Abraham, sarah was going to have a baby, Abraham just took God at his word. In light of the circumstances, that was quite a step of faith. Abraham was 100 years old and Sarah was 90 and barren. The apostle Paul give us a powerful insight into what happened. In 2cor4:13 "we having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believed, and therefore speak...."
Most people would have been overwhelmed by those problems. But not Abraham "he believed God, and it was counted unto him for righteousness" (Romans 4:3). Even though in the natural realm it was impossible for what God said to come to pass, Abraham believed God anyway. And he also began to speak.
That's why God changed Abrams name to Abraham. Abraham means "father of many nations" so every time Abraham introduced himself after his name was changed, he was actually saying is faith.
And at the end of it all the bible says "and therefore it was imputed to him to righteousness" (Romans 4:22).
Even at the new birth that was what happened, when I confess Jesus as my lord, the outward circumstances were such that anybody standing around me then would have said, "oh, he's lying. I know Jesus is not isn't his lord," they were right. He wasn't my lord when I said it; but because I said in faith and believe in my hearts I got it.
"If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart, that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. (Romans 10:9) when you said that Satan was lord but because you say it and acted upon in faith. The righteousness which is of faith brought you into right standing with him.
