We have the power to control our destiny, the key is having goals and tracking them diligently enough to see them come to fruition. Has long as you are moving in the direction of your goals, you are a success in my view. If you are moving in the right direction then you will do well in life.

You can accomplish a lot in life. Get your eyes on what you want. Don't think of the reasons you can't have something focus on how. Below are reasons we need to set goals.

- They help you sell yourself
- They help you stay organized.
- They provide a measuring stick for considering your idea.
- They help you stay productive.
- They give you purchased purpose.
- They chart in course of your life.
- They give you enthusiasm.
- They keep solution ideas flowing.
- They give you something for which to aim.
- They keep you focus.
Steps to effective goal setting.

1. Put your goals in writing and be specific.

2. Cost of goals category:
List what category this goals pertain to. Because you will have several goals in your binder or file, it will be helpful for you to list from which category this goal comes.
3. Give your goal a deadline:
Besides achieving deadlines, consider breaking down the goal into smaller pieces and setting milestones. But a time deadline always scared people from setting goals. Will I feel a failure if I don't reach my goal on time? Don't worry it can be changed. Perhaps the date is wrong but setting a deadline does provide a target.
4. Identify the resources you will need to achieve your goal:
I've found that there are lot of help available to those who stop long enough to consider, Shut up long enough to hear, and humble themselves long enough to to ask.
Chances are you that you will always require certain requirements from certain people to see your dreams fulfilled. Who are they? How should you approach them? What should you ask them? Is there a association or fellowship you should join?
5. Write out what has to happen for you to accomplish the goal:
Sit down with your daily planner and schedule when you will work on your goals make a plan that is realistic given your situation. But develop the action plan. List the step involved and when you will work on them.

6. List what benefits this goal will bring.
This strategy is an important one be sure to lists the benefits and consider the emotional advantages. What's in it for me? How will it effect my finances. How will my mind be effected when I reach the goals? Get feeling in the next picture contemplate the emotional benefits.
7. Take action:
If you set a goal and take no concrete action to achieve it, you will be raising your dissatisfaction level. You will flustrate yourself to no end. I think step seven is the important step because it move you beyond goal setting into goal achieving. What you do in the crucial days and weeks following your goals-setting sessions represent the most important block of time you have.
